Coolant Selection Reference Guide

 

 

Use this guide as a quick reference when selecting the correct CONDAT coolant for your application.

SEMI-SYNTHETICS

• Polybio 650 AL – Best choice for aluminum applications; also performs well on steel and stainless. Competitive vs. Castrol
  MB 50, QH Hocut 795, Master 585 XT. Not ideal in very hard water due to high lubricity additive package.

• Polybio 540 – General-purpose option for hard water, poor concentration control, and heavy tramp oil. Chlorinated paraffin improves robustness.

• Polybio 535 – Similar to Polybio 540 without chlorinated paraffin.

• Polybio 300 – Economical option when competing primarily on price per gallon.

 

VEGETABLE-BASED / HIGH PERFORMANCE

• Mecagreen 550 – High lubricity with aerospace approvals; excellent for difficult materials.

• Mecagreen 450 HP – High performance at improved price point. Competitive target: QualiChem Xtreme-Cut 230.

 

CAST IRON

• Lead with Mecagreen 127 – Excellent performance in cast iron machining.

 

GRINDING

• Mecagreen 127 – Preferred option.

• Condacool 220 BBF – Modern EH&S-friendly synthetic option.

• Condacool 530 – Traditional synthetic option if requested.

 

MQL / ACCULUBE COMPETITOR

• Microkut 400

 

SAW APPLICATIONS

• CondaMax ALS – Recommended for difficult sawing operations.

• Condacool 220 BBF – General synthetic option.

• Polybio 540 – Also commonly used.

 

FORMING VANISHING OIL

• Condaform CEV 1332

• Condaform CEV 2000

 

MACHINE CLEANOUT

• Add CondaClean MP to the machine 24 hours prior to cleaning and coolant changeout.
